A Beginner's Guide In Choosing Your Niche Market

If you think about it carefully there would not be much point in either trying to sell a product for which there is no demand or trying to sell a product where the competition is huge.

So what is your next move? Well at this point you must decide what is going to be your Niche Market.

What does Niche mean? To give an example... Imagine you decide to choose dogs as your niche. Although the demand would be large the competition would be enormous so you would be unlikely to reach your target audience.

However, if you then decided to choose as your subject as " How To Train Your Border Collie" the demand would still be there but the competition would be significantly less.

There are several free tools you can use to determine the demand and competition for your niche. One of the easiest to use is the Google Keyword Tool.

Another good idea is to try and pick a subject that you are really interested in. After all if you choose something that does not inspire you, will it inspire your potential customers!

Once you have chosen and researched your niche it is then time build your first webpage. This is not to sell a product but to build your list of subscribers. You can do this by giving away a free gift.

If we continue with the dog theme you could possibly give away a free report on "Tips For Choosing Your Puppy". This would then encourage them to sign up to your list.

After you have provided your subscriber with more free information you can then begin to think about selling a product to them such as an eBook dealing with a subject within your niche.

Choosing your niche is only part of the process of starting your new internet marketing business. There are many other aspects to consider such as building your first webpage, driving traffic to your website and article writing for beginners.
